Don't think you need a home inspection on new construction? Think again...

You may think since you are buying a new home you do not need a home inspection. However, you would be amazed at some of the things I have found at inspections on new home construction. Here are a few examples of issues I have found along the way:

  1. In complete power supply connection to the water heater.

  2. Missing wire connector/clamp on gas furnace.

  3. Moisture meter reading showing active leak from bathroom above garage.

  4. Snapped and arcing neutral bar in main electrical panel at garage.

  5. Active water leak in garage from wall and onto the garage floor.

  6. Active water leak in crawl space.

My point is not to scare you when you are purchasing a new home. It is to reiterate why having a third party inspection of your new home is a very important part of the home buying process. I am also including a very good article that talks about "How to Make Sure Your New-Construction Home is Built to the Highest Quality."

Below are pictures corresponding with the examples I have provided above. Click on the small black arrow on each picture to scroll through them.
